From this post i can actually help you find out which is the best network operator for your mobile if you are in Delhi

Best 2G connection

In a nutshell, sparing you guys all the calculations,Aircel is the best,although it does not have 3G license in Delhi but still it rocks in its job to deliver the best network service at cheaper prices than others…For simplicity i have listed down the exclusive differences

  1. It gives you 46 MMS at an etopup of 23 Rs which makes MMS at 50p.Others have 3 or 5 Rs each MMS
  2. It was the first network to start unlimited GPRS scheme and others followed the suit.But now it has limited its data plan to 250MB for 14 rs (3 days),750 MB for 29 rs (7 days),3 GB for 98 Rs (30 days). But this will help to increase the download speeds, since the stress on the server will be less.Aircel operates on EDGE network which is an improved version of GPRS.The speed that you will get actually depends on your handset(processor) with peek speed of i think around 32 kB/s…..which means roughly 1 MB in 1 minute
  3. You can connect your mobile to your Laptop or PC and use your Mobile as a modem without any additional cost.The others like Vodafone have been charging extra for this for years.
  4. Aircel has 999Rs plan for 30 days for business class which gives unlimited calls to ANY network.
  5. Now here is the best part.Etopup your phone with 79 Rs once. It will give you 20000 SMS for one month. Now after 29 days, just before the expiry,dial *122*900# and it will give you 100 SMS for one month for 9 Rs.Surprise your Msgs have been added and your SMS validity has been extended for another month. In this way you can enjoy almost unlimited SMS just for Rs 9.You may now have ninteen thousand something SMS remaining or whatever.
  6. The same thing works for bonus minutes from Aircel to Aircel. Recharge your phone with 64 Rs and it will give you 1000 aircel minutes.Now after 6 days etopup your phone with 45 Rs and it will add 200 aircel minutes to your previous minutes and your Aircel minutes validity will be extended by another not one but two months.In this way you will get 1200 minutes for 109 Rs for 3 months.Note that these are not night minutes which means you can use them anytime.You can continue both these processes as long as Aircel doesn’t realize its loopholes.   7. Its the only network in which you can recharge your phone with special vouchers while sitting at home. All you have to do is know its price and convert the voucher paise i.e. 29 Rs will be converted to 2900 and recharge by dialling *122*2900# and you will get your pocket internet recharge for 7 days.
  8. It gives full talktime on recharge of 125 Rs. and for some reasons i recommend full talk-time recharges over others.
  9. Surfing on facebook is absolutly free on Aircel.But for that you have to log on to 0.facebook.com (it s zero not the letter) via your mobile’s main browser and not through opera mini etc.There will be no balance deductions.

The network coverage is decent and its not like what it used to be 5 years ago and i have seen full signal even in underground metro almost all the time.

Best 3G connection

We have been waiting for 3G in India for too long, almost long enough to not care. If you can, then for 3G stay away from private players, especially in Delhi. Prices are exorbitant and service is poor. Network failure after network failure, not to forget 1/3 of the promised speeds.I think state owned MTNL trump is still the best.

Average speed in Delhi is 2Mbps which means around 12MB in one minute.Isn’tthat awesome?

Trump 3G plans

  • Rs. 50 – 60MB
  • Rs. 99 – 130MB
  • Rs. 250 – 500MB
  • Rs. 450 – 1 GB
  • Rs. 650 – 2GB
  • Rs. 850 – 5GB
  • Rs. 1099 – 10Gb
  • Rs. 1500 – 10GB day + 10GB night
  • Rs. 1650 – 100GB

But there is another interesting aspect to MTNL, they currently have a 4500 Rs scheme where you get unlimited data for 6 months at 3G speeds. Which basically kills all hopes for Vodafone or any other private player. There is a claimed 200GB/month limit, but even if you cross it you are not charged.SIMPLY AWESOME!! that makes unlimited 3G speed in 750 Rs/month…Guys throw away your Broadband modem

See 1 Mbps unlimited broadband in 1250 Rs(999 plan after service tax.) for one month

OR

2 Mbps unlimted 3G broadband in 750 Rs(inclusive of tax) for one month

For MNP type PORT<space><Your mobile number> and send to 1900.Cost is 1 Rs.

You will receive your porting code and contact the Network provider you want to port to.This code will be vald for 21 days and if you apply for MNP your network will be ported within 7 days.
